Heithold to receive AFSOC Order of the Sword

Lt. Gen. Brad Heithold, AFSOC commander, is escorted by Chief Master Sgt. Matt Caruso, Air Force Special Operations Command command chief, out to a crowd of Airmen prior to presenting him with an AFSOC Order of the Sword invitation May 2, 2016, at Hurlburt Field, Fla. An estimated 150 people joined the command chief to present Heithold his invitation. The Order of the Sword, which is the highest award the enlisted corps can bestow upon an officer, draws its heritage from military tradition where non-commissioned officers honor leaders who have made significant contributions to the enlisted corps.
