AMC extends Osprey capabilities
A KC-10 Extender, assigned to the 6th Air Refueling Squadron at Travis Air Force Base, Calif., reaches its aerial refueling hose and drogue basket toward a CV-22 Osprey aircraft, assigned to the 20th Special Operations Squadron, during a Tactical Air-Refueling mission March 11, 2019, over the Southwest region of the U.S. Aerial refueling allows the receiving aircraft to prolong its time airborne and has also been considered to reduced fuel consumption on long-distance flights.
