Contractors with Brice Construction Ltd. deploy an air rotary drilling rig as part of a pilot study civil engineering project during a per- and polyfluoroalkyl remedial investigation Nov. 18, 2021, at Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico. In May 2021, the USAF awarded a $16.6M contract for an Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis, or "EE/CA," with a pilot study to evaluate and determine the appropriate interim responses to implement while the investigation is ongoing. In accordance with the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act framework, an EE/CA is required to satisfy environmental review requirements for interim responses.
