27th Special Operations Maintenance Group

Executes global Special Operations taskings as an Air Force component member of USSOCOM. Responsible for all flight line and backshop maintenance in support of assigned AC-130H, AC-130W, MC-130J, CV-22B and MQ-1/9 aircraft. Provides contract oversight of civilian maintenance on three Non Standard Aviation program aircraft types. Manages over 90 facilities and an annual budget in excess of $30M. Enforces quality maintenance across four squadrons and among seven defense contractors. Organizes, trains and equips 1,400 personnel in support of special operations forces and COCOMs

727th Special Operations Aircraft Maintenance Squadron

Executes global Special Operations taskings as an Air Force component member of USSOCOM. Organizes trains and equips 230 personnel in the maintenance and sustainment of CV-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft as well as MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper Remotely Piloted Aircraft. Provides worldwide deployable assets and personnel in support of infiltration, exfiltration, reconnaissance and strike capability missions.  

27th Special Operations Maintenance Squadron

Executes global Special Operations taskings as an Air Force component member of USSOCOM.
Deploys personnel and specialized equipment to provide weapon systems maintenance and logistics support for the AC-130H, AC-130W, MC-130J, CV-22, MQ-1, and MQ-9 aircraft. Utilizes 11 specialized AFSC's to perform intermediate and organizational-level maintenance on assigned aircraft. Supports civilian maintenance on three types of Non Standard Aviation aircraft. Maintains oversight for the contractor operated Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory and Transient Alert. Organizes, trains, and equips over 460 military and civilian personnel.

27th Special Operations Aircraft Maintenance Squadron

Executes global Special Operations taskings as an Air Force component of member of USSOCOM. Maintains AC-130H, AC-130W and MC-130J aircraft, personnel and equipment to support precision aerospace fires and close air support, overt and covert infiltration, resupply and infiltration and intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance missions. Organizes trains and equips 700 personnel.

The 27th Special Operations Wing and the Air Force Civil Engineer Center hosted a virtual public meeting to provide updates to its on-going actions to address Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS), identified at Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico.

This is the third meeting of a planned series of quarterly meetings focused on the Air Force’s response to PFAS. AFCEC’s environmental experts will be available to answer questions regarding these efforts. The Air Force welcomes and encourages public participation and involvement.
